Candle Instructions
All candles are made from the finest quality materials. Hand-made in Melbourne in small batches from ethically sourced Australian soy wax. Cotton or timber slow-burn wicks and premium scents and oils. The maximum scent load is added to all our candles to ensure a full-bodied aroma once lit.
To burn a candle properly you are encouraged to follow the instructions. Candle wax has a memory so to prevent wax sticking to the sides (known as tunnelling), keep candle lit until entire surface has melted to edges of the vessel before putting out. To put out flame use a snuffer or saucer to avoid creating smoke. Sometimes a cotton wick can mushroom (widens and throws a taller flame). If this occurs put flame out as instructed, wait for wax to harden and trim wick to ½ cm.
Do not leave candles unattended, placed near a draught or next to flammable items such as curtains. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Always extinguish candles before going out or to bed.
Once the candle has finished, clean vessel by filling with boiling water and allowing to cool. Remove any residual wax from the surface and use a spoon to remove wick stem from the base which should push away easily. Use warm soapy water for a final clean and you’re ready to upcycle. Ceramic candle vessels made by Kimberley can brought back instore to purchase a refill, or as a fuctional vessel for food, jewellery, a succulent or whatever you can dream up.
